Like I said...pissy.
Okay, here we go:
Assuming that Cassel plays 16 games next season, and has
a. 550 attempts, completing 60% of them (330):
a = ((330/550 x 100) - 30) x .05
a = 1.5
b. Cassel throws for 3500 yards on those 550 attempts:
b = (3500/550 - 3) x .25
b = .84
c. Cassel throws for 25 touchdowns
c = (25/550) x 20
c = .90
d. Cassel has 15 interceptions
d = 2.375 - (15/550 x 25)
d = 1.694
(1.5 + .84 + .90 + 1.694)/6 x 100
NFL Passer rating of 82.23 (approximate)
So, anything from about 80 to 85 would be perfectly acceptable to me for Cassel next season. Particularly if Jamaal Charles was able to produce for a full season as he did the last eight games in the 2009/2010 regular season.
