Babies, say less than 18 months, I have no issue with a mother breast feeding in front of me - nor doing it in public. Doesn't bother me.
Toddlers, kids that can walk & talk & ask for breast, that's a bit extreme to me to do that in public. And it's not the exposed breast itself that makes it an uncomfortable situation, it's the 3-4 year old still breast feeding.

That's a personal opinion. I won't say whether I agree or disagree with you, because that's not important.
Who are you to decide that a 3-4 year old is too old to breastfeed? Why should your comfort level with the situation have any bearing on the decisions made by a mother about feeding their child? Seems like it's up to the mom to make those decisions, not anyone else.
