Babies, say less than 18 months, I have no issue with a mother breast feeding in front of me - nor doing it in public. Doesn't bother me.

Toddlers, kids that can walk & talk & ask for breast, that's a bit extreme to me to do that in public. And it's not the exposed breast itself that makes it an uncomfortable situation, it's the 3-4 year old still breast feeding.

That's a personal opinion. I won't say whether I agree or disagree with you, because that's not important.

Who are you to decide that a 3-4 year old is too old to breastfeed? Why should your comfort level with the situation have any bearing on the decisions made by a mother about feeding their child? Seems like it's up to the mom to make those decisions, not anyone else.

I agree. It is fully up to the mother when is the appropriate time to stop breast feeding. But, I also think taking into account the place you are at & those around you is important. Then again, I've never been a "**** everyone else, I'm doing it because I want to do it" type of a person.

If women want their 3+ year old breast feeding in public, fine. Just don't expect anyone around you to not have a WTF look on their face or excuse themselves from the room.

Um, yes. It's how babies eat. It's a vastly more appropriate comparison than pooping in the hall or masturbating on a bus, and those have both been used. My point isn't that it's the same, anyway, it's that using other people's opinions of what is normal to determine how to meet your or your family's needs is incredibly stupid.

Again, are you talking about BABIES period, or are you including toddlers. There is a huge difference.

Maybe some of it has to do with where you live and how you were raised. Out here in Ranch and farm country you just don't see it. By that I mean women breast feed their kids but you don't see women breast feed their kids when their eating solid foods. I think kids here are raised a little more rugged.
