What was the name of your hometown newspaper?

In my little town, the Harold-Patriot came out on Tuesday and the Leader came out on Thursday, both published at the same company.

I figure the Harold-Patriot was a merger before my time, and the Leader a later aquisition - so that was three papers for a little town of 5000.

What was the name of your local fish wrap?

Ours is called the High Point Enterprise. We call it the H.P. Surprise since we are always surprised when there is anything worth a crap in it.

Growing up in Leavenworth it was the Leavenworth Times. Honestly I don't remember the names of the papers in the 3 other towns I lived in before I moved to Williamsport. Now it's the Williamsport Sun-Gazette. We get the Grit as an insert on Sundays. We even have a big building downtown that has "GRIT" really big. I still read the Lawrence Journal-World a couple days a weeks.

Ours was the Lee's Summit Journal.

Funny story (to me anyway); My grandparents lived in Ashland, a little town in Nebraska. The paper was called the Ashland Gazette. My grandpa always called it "The Daily Astonisher"

We used to have a newspaper called the Marion Sentinel but that was replaced by the Marion Times. Its only a weekly paper, so the daily would be the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

Thayer? Have a friend from a church we used to pastor that I believe played football in Thayer - late 80s to early 90s.

When I was in High School I threw the Kansas City Times (AM) and Kansas City Star (PM). Yes, there were two papers every day except for Sunday.

We also get the Independence Examiner and the Lexington MO News.
