This may sound crazy, but...would you take a chance on Warren Sapp next year?

He could possibly get cut? Cap casuality.

Ok he will be 35 years of age. But does he still have that passrush ability?

Something we desperately need in the interior of our line.

*Im not a big fan of signing old players, and giving them hefty contracts. Something this organization has done over the last while.

Id prefer to build through the draft, but, are their really any passrush specialists at DT this year in FA or draft? Say Sapp is our best option? Is he worth the risk?

If he was cheap, yea I'd take him otherwise no. You don't overpay aging players.
Coverage sacks, not effort sacks. He looked fat and out of shape when LJ was running over him.

Merry Christmas!

Besides we have 1/2 assist Simms-I think 2007 when he starts showing why we moved up to take him.

When are you ever going to talk about something you have a ****in' clue about?

Sapp gives 100% effort every play, and not all of those sacks are coverage sacks.

You can say he's too old, that you're sick of the quick fix mentality of the Chiefs, as I am, but to suggest that Sapp bears any resemblence to Sims is beyond moronic.

No don't do it.

Maybe he isn't washed up right now but his time has got to come any day now.

I think if we were to look it it as a whole, free agency has been a big dissapointment for us.

We just need to draft young players and play them.

Well, imo, FA has been mediocre for us.

Not a disappointment entirely. We've managed to make some GREAT signings. Let not forget some of the signings Peterson made. Priest Holmes? We can't forget about that move. Eddie Kennison was GREAT value for what he did. Casey Wiegmann was a backup center in Chicago, and THAT was also GREAT value for what he has done. What this team needs to do, is find more players like these in FA and not overpay. If we can do that, then we can build a good team.

Unfortunately thats not the case, it's the stupid signings like the Kendrell Bells, Sammy Knights, Eric Hicks, Eric Warfields, Shawn Barbers, Vonnie Hollidays, the Johnnie Mortons that have REALLY put a dagger in this team and prevented them from greatness.

As for the draft, well, I don't even want to go there. This is something the Chiefs have failed considerably. Drafting 2 superstar players in 10 years (Gonzo and LJ) doesn't get it done imo. Drafting in the 2nd round has BEEN a huge disappointment. Also, the Chiefs have a tendency to usually trade away their draft picks.

don't get me wrong, we've drafted some good players...Like Jared Allen, Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, Kawika Mitchell...But are they really any good compared to what other teams have drafted?

I think it's clear this team needs a change of heart. Get a new GM, and a new scouting staff.
