Backbreaker: Football game that will compete with EA
I've been following the progress on this game for at least a year now and it's finally coming out. It looks very promising and I think it will compete with the evil madden despite the ridiculous NFL license.
This will be a football game unlike any you have ever seen. I'm extremely excited for this, it's going to have franchise, online and other features. The game engine looks very smooth and I really do have high hopes for this one. Everybody is going to say it will fail because of the NFL license, but if you are a fan of playing football games, than the NFL license won't be that important. I just hope that the online play is as good as 2Ks and they have a system in place to make it a good experience. http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sports/b...&mode=previews |

No one ever said the game was perfect. the out routes can be annoying in the game, there is a defensive formation that that you can block the field goals about 90 percent of the time if you know how. Its still a little bit to easy to block punts as well, but its not as bad as the field goal blocking. I think the defensive players start moving a bit to slow. They dont defend the zone as they should at times which can piss you off at times. QB cadence is to effective.
There are plenty of issues with the 2K game, but it plays a ****ton better. It by no means is perfect, not even close. |

Regardless of gameplay, as long as the NFL is only dishing out its properties to Madden, there's only going to be one football game worth two shits on the market.

You know what I hated about the 2k series?
Every one I played if you'd pull up before each snap and look at the defense you could complete almost every single pass. Read the corners on soft coverage short out/slant is open every time, up tight, you can go long. I finished a year with Trent Green over 80% on that game. |

Just have to know what plays to call and how to use your defensive options. In madden just throw the swing pass and in human vs cpu you can score on every single drive. Same shit. |

Not everyone is going to play constant human vs human games though so that's a major problem.
Look anyone that repeatedly uses the same play over and over against the computer is a dope and is not the kind of player I'm discussing here. People who use their 5 money plays over and over so they never have to punt are not what I'm remotely talking about. When playing the computer, they should in no way shape or form be dictating exactly what you can do before you ever snap the ball. Now if you play the game a lot yes you can have an idea of what will work and what won't but the fact that 2k always gave away coverages was very poor. Say what you will for Madden but I never completed 80% of my passes of course I'm not a RB dumper either. |

But its broken as well. its the SAME THING. Like if you see the guys playing off throw an out. So if i see my guys covered, throw the swing pass? Same THING, lets not mention that the last 2K NFL game was released in 2004. I am sure if they continued to make the game year after year,it would have improved by alot.
And the game is still better then anything we have seen from a next gen nfl game. |
