English Bulldog Breeder

I am just starting the process of getting my boy an English Bully. They have everyone convinced out here they need at least $2,500 to get a good one. I know that's just not the case nationally. If anyone knows where I can get a really great bully at a good price please let me know. Just throwing that out there.

It seems like the market is supporting a price of $2500-3000 for English Bulldog puppies from top quality breeders, and I'm not sure I'm mentally ready to spend that kind of coin on a dog yet.

pfffff. this is the crux of akc show breeds. Want the dog, dont want to spend the monies.
Decide to make the money back by hookin two ranks curs. More high dollar shit eaters flood the market. The cycle never ends.

That's all well and good except for the fact that virtually any breeder of decent dogs is going to sell them to you on a limited registration that prohibits breeding.

Go ahead and try to get legit papers if you breed from dog on a limited cert.

Again - it all comes down to doing your homework. If you're an idiot buyer that doesn't research the animal and the breeders, there's a good chance you'll screw it up. It never ceases to amaze me that people will dedicate hours into researching what car they want to buy but won't do the legwork on a dog. That car will sit unoccupied a good 90% of the time and will generally sit your in garage. If you're lucky you probably only have it for 8 years or so.

A dog, meanwhile, is in your house and around your children. If you're at home its likely somewhere near you. It'll probably be around a hell of a lot longer than your car as well.

So folks that drive a Mercedes and yet buy a dog from a petstore...well those folks just don't make a damn bit of sense to me.

I don't know what you're trying to say here. There's nothing wrong with wanting to get a high quality dog at a reasonable price.

Given the hundreds of bully dog breeders in the country, it seems incredibly stupid to just bit on the first bid offered when supply and demand sets the price.

Our boxer
<---------

is 10 months old. He is very smart, was easily trained and cost 500 dollars. He is brindle with white paws and a white breast. His daddy weighed 80 lbs and his granddaddy weighed 100 lbs and they were solid muscle.

Angus has a great personality. He doesn't like storms tho...

Boxers can't handle the extremes in weather, but are very kid friendly and patient and loving.

alot of problems with popular show breeds come from novice handlers attempting to make monies back on the org. purchase price. They end up breeding the non elite and it damages the breed.

I've had to put three English down "early" because of health problems. That sucks. The last one made my Dad swear off owning another animal.
I'm on my second Olde English, the first was an old rescue dog. Had him for his last five years, he died on his own while we were asleep (he shared the bed).
Maybe coincidence, but having a dog go naturally sure made it a lot easier for me, anyway.

This is extreme, but Dio was probably the largest OEB ever. 146lbs, 33" head, 24 1/2" tall.
An average/good OEB will be in the 85-115 range.
