Assuming we win, Foxboro or Heinz?

I'm not a coach or player, so fock off to anyone saying I may be looking past the first game, although I don't think anyone really would say this at this point.

Will you be rooting for the Colts or Jets on Saturday? We'll have our hands full with either Pittsburgh or New England. However, I kinda like the story line that would develop with our New England ties should we end up at Foxboro.

my rule of thumb is to never bet against the Pats or the Colts...

so I'll hold off from wanting to play New England until the last possible moment...

I'd rather face Indy @ Arrowhead for a chance to go to the Super Bowl in all honesty.

NE. The Chiefs matchup better against NE, easily.

If we faced Indy it would be in Indy.
The only possibility of the AFC Championship in KC is against the Jets.

Polamalu scares you more than Tom Brady?

I went to the Ravens/Pats playoff game last season. I've tried to block that memory. So if the Colts and Ravens win, I am NOT going to the Ravens/Pats playoff game.

If the Jets win (and, thus, it'll be Jets/Pats), I'll think about it. Probably 50/50.

If the Colts and Chiefs win, I'm telling my wife we're forfeiting the show tickets we have for that night (some Broadway thing on tour) and buying Chiefs/Pats tickets.

We match up much better against New England than Pittsburgh.

Either one would be a long shot, but I'll take the Patsies. At least we would have a puncher's chance of winning a shootout. If it's a defensive struggle (which it would be... Pittsburgh is a VERY physical defense) we wouldn't last on the road

A lot of people think the "Patsies" will be an easy D. I think they might be proven wrong.

Yardage-wise, New England looks bad; the Patriots gave up 90 more yards per game (Pitt ranks 2nd with 276, Pats rank 25th with 366). But in PPG the Steelers were 1st (14.5) and the Pats were 8th (19.6). Not to mention the Patriots' D improved greatly as the season went on.

Points given up, by week and team:

1: 24 (Cincy)
2: 28 (NYJ)
3: 30 (Buffalo)
4: 14 (Miami)
5: bye
6: 20 (Baltimore)
7: 20 (SD)
8: 18 (Minn)
9: 34 (Cleveland)
10: 26 (Pitt)
11: 28 (Indy)
12: 24 (Detroit)
13: 3 (NYJ)
14: 7 (Chicago)
15: 27 (GB)
16: 3 (Buffalo)
17: 7 (Miami)

Now, granted, the last two teams are pretty bad and had packed it in. But it does say something that, in the first 11 games, the Pats couldn't hold ANYONE under 14 points, and in 4 of the last 5 games they held teams to single-digits. Just saying, the Pats' D may no longer be as bad as they look statistically. (The O, on the other hand, greatly outshines another O the Chiefs might face.) The Pats, IIRC, fielded the youngest defense in the league. (And keep in mind they played the last 4 games without Brandon Spikes, who makes them better.) Now that they've bought into what the coaches are selling, and have more game-speed experience, they're better than their numbers.
