18 volt Lithium Skill drill. Outworks the company's Dewalt all day in power and longevity and costs about half the price.

Seriously my family owns a Commercial door, hardware and frame business with a hollow metal fabrication shop and for cordless drills (we run about 5 consecutively) we use nothing but this skill drill. For the price it can't be beat.

Milwaukee stuff is better quality and similarly priced. I used to be a big DeWalt fan years ago but developed a liking for Milwaukee after using them side by side compared to the dewalt stuff at work. Milwaukee's 12 and 18 volt lines have done well so far at work. From what I understand DeWalts quality is down considerably in recent years.

This. I have a Milwaukee 18V Lithium and it is powerful straight to battery life end. Very satisfied with the Milwaukee 18V.

In many cases, yes. But, have you tried any of the newer L/ion compact drivers in the 12V models? Mine have most the torque of my 18V Dewalt or Ridgid at
But your point is valid. If you're running a power drill/driver for a large portion of the day your best performer is probably going to be an 18V model. |

Although.... Groves just became an old man. Maybe the smaller/lighter tools might be better for him to hold and transport with his walker.

We used to use Milwaukee at work until they blew out the warranty. We tested DeWalts and ended up with them and have been happy.
I've got a brand new Milwaukee 12v compact impact driver I'll make a deal on if someone wants it....won it as a door prize and don't need it.

I did just officially become an old man, but I've been an honorary member of that club for years.
The ability to send full power for the life of the battery is inherent to the Li-ion batteries, so that feature will exist across all brands. I can all but guarantee that I own and use more old hand tools than everyone on this board. I certainly lack no brace, drill, screwdriver, automatic screwdriver, old school impact driver, etc. I do have young kids and a wife, though, and just because I own a flock of hand tools doesn't mean it's not a great convenience to just let the electrons die for a spell and get er done. My dresses are all calico this season, so what I really need to know is if "it matches". I'm hoping that those who have actually used a 12VMAX will pipe up, too. |

Nobody has used it. DeWalt was late to the game.

I recently got a Hitachi 12v Lithium and like it a lot. For big jobs I still prefer my corded Dewalt, but normal around the house bs the 12v lithium is more than adequate.
