The "Happy Gilmore" Golf Swing
Video on sports science. Padraig Harrington the guest pro on the show.

Anyone who's seen Happy Gilmore and plays golf has at least tried this swing off the tee box, or at the driving range. Has anyone here actually gotten a good solid, straight hit down the middle of the fairway, and if so, was it considerably farther than your normal driving distance off the tee?

Here's the video, it's hard (IMO) to get a good shot off this way. Personally I've done it just once at a driving range and absolutely skull ****ed the ball all the way to Mars. Tried it many times since and can't get a good hit.

There are plot holes that bug me about Happy Gilmore. It looks like all the tournaments are one round, unless he is playing Mario Golf on nes, this isn't possible. Also they miss an important bridge to chorus in the song Endless love. The real full song had a transition from 4/4 to 8/8 time.
