A Family Issue

Here's the skinny: My mom is 63 years old and has no idea who her father was/is. My grandma is still alive and has this information but for whatever reason refuses to tell my mom anything about him even though my grandma stays with my mom. A while back my grandma told me what my grandpa's name is. Now, the question is do I tell my mom the name or just keep it a secret? Keep in mind that my mom just had a stroke about 4 months ago.
Any help will be very much appreciated. I know I'll get the usual dumbass cp remarks and thats cool too.

Your Granny may have told you a wrong name (and a dozen other people different wrong names) to see which of you would tell your mom.

Do you have some sort of loyalty to your gma that you don't have to your mom? Is the info somehow harmful to her? or harmful to your gma if it comes out?

I'm just worried about the news pissing my mom off even more than she normally is. No loyalties to one over the other. I don't think she told anyone else. And the last thing is the whole stroke thing, I don't know how the news will effect her
