It is my view that the hitting coach is vastly overrated. Guys arr gonna swing at what they wanna swing at. Its up to the player to make adjustments. Good players dont need batting coaches. I feel like batting coaches are more beneficial for raw guys like Bubba in the minors than anybody.

The coaching staff has to be making some dumb adjustments to the players. How do you explain that nearly every one of our key players hits better against same-handed hitting? Hos, Butler, Cain, Gordo, and Salvy are all hitting same handed hitting better than opposite handed pitching this year and none of them have done that historically, except Billy Butler who did it one year in 2010? This trend was even more pervasive at the ASB before the hitting coach changed. How does one explain that without looking at the hitting coaches?

He IS one of the co-founders of the site, though. You'd think they'd invite him back (who knows, maybe he had a conflict?).

I hope DM gets fired and they bring in a new GM. Just letting DM hire a new manager is a band aid, because i dont trust him to find the right one.
a new GM, with a new manager has alot to work with obviously. Probably hopeing for too much.........

I'll say this admittedly, I find the ability to size up the quality or better managers in baseball harder to pinpoint than in other sports. I can definitely spot their weaknesses and mistakes, but just find it tougher to say get a gut reaction say if you were to rate the MLB managers first to last than I could much easier rank coaches in the NFL or NBA, or NCAA BB & FB. Maybe it's the number of games and so it's tougher to keep salient every + & - over the season, except I do know I've seen enough negatives to know Yost should not be the guy next year.
