Just found a JoCo Sheriff's Office notice on my door
Says there's a "court notice you must pick up ASAP".

Wonder what in the world this could be?

List of possibilities on their website includes:

Writ of Restitution (Evictions) - my rent is not delinquent
Special Writ of Executions - don't think I have any sort of outstanding debts
Service of Protection/Stalking Orders - last I checked I'm not stalking anyone
Vehicle Registration Enforcement - everything up to date
Delinquent Tax Collection - everything up to date
Foreclosure Sales - not applicable
Divorce Orders - not married

Any other possibilities?

I did have this nightmare all weekend that I was being duped into some kind of random sting and I'd be the dumb guy they have on camera just walking in with a smile on my face so they can slap some cuffs on me.

'course I couldn't think of anything I'd actually done, but it's human nature (or at least my nature) to come up with the most bizarre worst case scenarios.

Thankfully that didn't happen.

I guess I was surprised that the people you had to pay the tax or whatever it was, couldn't have at least called you and leave you a voice mail, informing you of the situation.....

Yeah, I wondered that myself.

There's a copy of the written notice attached to the copy of the warrant I have, as an exhibit. Problem being, of course, it's the first time I've seen it.
