Your Favorite Eric Berry Moments

Ever since Berry was drafted in 2010, he's been a fan favorite. He progressively got better every year as a Chief, and would have been a slam dunk Ring of Famer had he stayed healthy.

Since he is de facto retired, barring some miracle recovery, it's worth perhaps going over some of our favorite plays (and other things) Berry's given us over his short, great career.

The thing that sticks out in my mind is "gimme that ball ELIIIII" from last year's Giants game.

My favorite Berry play was probably his first career interception. I can't remember who it was against but it was deep into that fun 2010 season, he was a rookie playing very well and just hadn't secured that first INT yet.

Berry caught the INT, ran around every which way for 20 minutes, then finally got tackled within 10 yards of the endzone. Flowers guided him up by the shoulder pads and the entire defense swarmed him in a confident strut. You could tell it was important to everyone, and how well liked Berry was.

My dad has season tickets. He's an older man and doesn't have great eyes, but he could always tell when Berry landed the tackle. Berry was a rare form tackler in today's NFL.

I'm sure you guys can think of better moments.

If nothing else though, at least it offers hope for him, if it is in fact cancer. Been through cancer with my dad on both prostate and lung cancer and each time simply having something to work towards was as beneficial to him as anything else. So if EB looks at Mario or Herzlich and uses those guys as a means to put just a little extra into his fight and possibly come back, its as good as anything if you ask me.

Drafting him. That was the shittiest week of my life we were given the news my moms treatments were no longer working and she would pass away soon. Drafting him actually gave me happiness because for some stupid reason I love this team. I hope he beats this and even if he never plays again he'll no doubt still be around football and have a positive influence on the game.

Wow. I can't say how ****ing saddened I am to hear about this. I ignored the naysayers all year because I know berry was special and he's a nasty competitor. Damn.

My favorite moment with Eric Berry had to have been one of his interceptions. I'm a piece of shit for not remembering the team but he'd picked off a pass and ran back a long reception. (Denver?) The play revitalized my faith in the chiefs at the time because I saw his potential and he just remeinded me of Cherry.

As a cancer victim myself I can't say how broken up I am about this. You go from worrying about insignificant daily issues to feeling your going to die randomly. If Berry wasn't an all pro top-shelf athlete I'd say he's done but because of his talents I wouldn't count him out.

And now we have a winner. Goddamn onions.

What a touching story. Got to give props to a guy like berry who does good things and doesn't ask for credit.
