OL Draft Prospects

Some of the guys I'm starting to like are:

Laken Tomlinson dude has been killing it at the Senior bowl. Would fix a lot of problems for the Chiefs.

Donovan Smith has been very solid on both side tackle spots.

La'el Collins is a beast, but he's gonna go mid 1st round. I don't think the Chiefs will pull the trigger on OL that early.

Cameron Erving is interesting from the stand point of how versatile he might be.

Ali Marpet might be a good pick at center.

Yes, I'm talking mostly Senior bowl guys right now.

Why is it that every player in KC is "seeking to become the highest paid" at their respective positions? 9M/year for a center? Kick rocks Hudson. Enjoy free agency. You won't get anywhere close to that. He deserves somewhere between 6 and 8.

I suppose we could sign Hudson to a six year deal at 54 million:
Year/Salary/SBon/Total
2015/1950/2500/4450
2016/5850/2500/8350
2017/5850/2500/8350
2018/5850/2500/8350
2019/5850/2500/8350
2020/13650/2500/16150

Then it is either a 5 year 40,350,000 deal or a sweet extension in 2020.

Where the **** do you see $9 million a year? I believe the highest paid center right now is making in the $6.5 million a year range.

Pouncey, Mack, and Kalil all make over 8 per. Pouncey is at 8.8 per.

If you can get him to sign for 8, it's worth it. Those contracts will be over before his and will re-up for even more. Take the 8..make it a long contract. linemen USUALLY last a while.

I love Hudson, he's a very good center, but I have a hard time seeing 9 million per. I was cool with 6.5 maybe even 7 per. I don't think 9 is something KC should do. Is he worth it? Maybe, but solid centers aren't THAT hard to find. You're talking about paying a center more than 2/3 of the starting left tackles in the league. In fact, he'd be the 9th highest paid lineman overall (on a per year basis), behind 8 left tackles. The simple answer is no, Rodney, you're not getting 9 million per from the Chiefs, but good luck to you.

There's a difference between solid and being among the best.

Smith vs Brees? LOL sorry..couldn't help it.

Well, I agree. I did say Hudson is very good, but I think finding a solid one to replace him isn't that hard to do. You don't need aces, you need solid across the board. I want Hudson back, more so than any other player this offseason, but I can't wrap my head round him making more than all but 8 left tackles. That is insane.
