Chief needs

just a quick look at addictions and subtractions and what areas of need will be addressed in the draft or later in FA.

Staying:
Howard -DT
Johnson -ILB
Berry - S
Zombo - ILB
Hail - OLB

Departed:
Smith - CB (Oak)
Stephenson - OL (Den)
Allen - OL (Tex)
Daniel - QB (Phi)
Grubbs - OL (FA)
Branch - S (Ari)

Acquired:
Schwartz - OL (Cle)
Massaquoi - OLB (Atl)
Obada - DE/TE (FA)

With the moves made as of today where do you go with the first pick in the draft? What is our biggest hole right now?

I think you have to go CB in round one if there is a guy available of a Marcus peters caliber available. I'm not sold on Gaines or Nelson being a #1/#2 guy. I'm also worried about WR. We need a good compliment to Maclin, someone who can step into the #1 slot and be just as effective as Maclin. I'm also concerned about our backup QB position. As we saw last year, good teams have capable backups who can step in and win 3-5 games and keep playoff hope alive while a starter recovers from an injury. I'm not sure Bray or Murray fits that definition.

Overall om pleased with Dorsey this is way better than any other GM since I have been a fan.

Thoughts?

Didn't we just gave new contracts to Kelce and Harris?

Backup Oline is a need. Hopefully we won't have such injury problems along the Oline now.

The TE position is indeed fine. If we lose Kelce, we are in trouble regardless of who is behind him, he's just that good of a player. We aren't changing that with anyone on the market right now.

But, with better weapons at WR, a loss of a TE like that would be less magnified..

Yep.

Only corners left that seem like viable starters (with Amukamara set to visit JAC) are Hayward, Leon Hall, Grimes, Carroll?....

Seems likely we might draft corner high again.

Pretty much have to now

No 3rd rounder hurts as well.

Cornerback in the 1st or 2nd is almost mandatory unless we get Amukamara or something.

I've done too much yelling at the OL to feel satisfied. I'm glad Allen is gone, annoyed that Stephenson chose Denver and disappointed Grubbs didn't work out and stuck us with so much dead money. I want a line I can forget for several years. I don't like Tardif but was surprised that Fulton did OK at center. I want this years #1 guard in the draft, plug the dang holes (its getting harder and harder throughout the league to do this), run the ball over everybody so they lay off of Kelce and Charles will take us to the Super Bowl. Jand just kill the clock that way we don't have to leave a marginal CB out there all day long only to see him get tired in the 4th quarter and break the heart of thousands.

I think you might have had a point in there somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it.
