That's pretty much what I did. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

The 'Starbucks' was Starbucks beans in a bag I brewed in my own French press, not a coffee bought at their store.

The half'n'half, extract, and sugar came from my fridge and pantry.

Cool. And yes, a good dark roast works well. I don't do Starbucks, but I do a dark roast from the grocery store.

And in a good way my boss is a coffee aficionado; to the point that he travels with a French press and a very dark grind.
