I like Brice Butler (Dallas) and Deonte Thompson (Buffalo) as low-cost fits. Butler as that #2/outside guy and Thompson as a slot option and kick returner. I really don't think KC needs to go out and get the big names to get a big impact at the position.

Maclin was the one guy they invested in to legitimize Smith, and it worked for a bit until he got banged up and didn’t play up to his contract. The Chiefs lucked out with Hill. Other investments at the position have been underwhelming. Wilson has been ok considering he was a UDFA. Kelce going down in the playoff game exposed the lack of depth/threat in the receiver group. Reid/Veach need to find another Maclin who can open up Kelce and Hill. There is enough youth at receiver on this team. |

Exactly. Which is why they won't. I'm assuming that his lackluster year in LA was more due to them wanting to get him on the cheap when negotiations come around. Don't feed him the rock, keep him healthy, low ball him in negotiations.

Also not a big fan of 1 year of Watkins, as this is probably more of a developmental season rather than a try to win it all season. If Watkins does great then he walks right before the Chiefs are ready to contend, and if he sucks, what then?
