If we're going to add a WR, who should it be?

So Veach said it pretty clearly, we're in the market for a WR that can keep up with Mahomes' talent. Forget whether or not you agree that we should be picking up a WR... tell me who your guy would be if you HAVE to add a WR via FA or draft???

Some really interesting names out there that I like...

Watkins - Yeah I know, injury history. But he could potentially come fairly cheap on a prove it deal and has massive potential.

Allen Robinson - See above Watkins description, add some height and from what I can tell a better attitude. That 1,400 yard season with Bortles has me wondering what he can do with Mahomes.

Dez - Some saying Cowboys will have to move on from Dez. We have Kelce already, but a tall, big, redzone threat WR with crazy talent on the outside could be just what this offense needs to be complete.

Landry - We don't have a sure-handed, 100+ receptions per year, WR on this team. Hill is a playmaker, not a lunchbox and pail kind of WR. Landry could be what Maclin was supposed to be.

Paul Richardson - A tier or two down from the above receivers, but a guy that seems like he's ready for a bigger role. He could shine considering we don't actually need a true #1 WR, we already have Kelce and Hill.

How bout the rest of CP, who would you be interested in adding?

I like Brice Butler (Dallas) and Deonte Thompson (Buffalo) as low-cost fits. Butler as that #2/outside guy and Thompson as a slot option and kick returner. I really don't think KC needs to go out and get the big names to get a big impact at the position.

If they get impact it will be because of Mahomes.

Maclin was the one guy they invested in to legitimize Smith, and it worked for a bit until he got banged up and didn’t play up to his contract.
The Chiefs lucked out with Hill. Other investments at the position have been underwhelming. Wilson has been ok considering he was a UDFA.

Kelce going down in the playoff game exposed the lack of depth/threat in the receiver group. Reid/Veach need to find another Maclin who can open up Kelce and Hill. There is enough youth at receiver on this team.

Exactly. Which is why they won't. I'm assuming that his lackluster year in LA was more due to them wanting to get him on the cheap when negotiations come around. Don't feed him the rock, keep him healthy, low ball him in negotiations.

Also not a big fan of 1 year of Watkins, as this is probably more of a developmental season rather than a try to win it all season. If Watkins does great then he walks right before the Chiefs are ready to contend, and if he sucks, what then?

I didn’t know Butler was a free agent

He’d be a great fit outside. Damn
