Brett Veach: Elite Contract Utilizer
Credit where it's due.
Another great piece from overthecap about "contract utilization" -- where they calculate APY for every player (how much they're paid annually) and comparing it to the snaps said players are playing (and adds a little sauce if said players play some special teams as well). In other words, it measures how consistently your money is out on the field. It is an imperfect measurement (as bad, expensive players can still get a lot of playtime), but, to quote OTC: Quote:
The Chiefs are #2 in the league in CUI -- contract utilization index -- at 62.4%. Eagles came in #3 at 61.9%. The Jets were #1 at 62.6%. The Raiders, somehow, were #7 in the entire league in having their money out on the field, 56.7%. The Broncos are an on-brand, unremarkable #19, at 53.2%. The Chargers bring up the AFCW rear with a hilarious #29 -- perfect placement for a team whose expensive players routinely get wounded and miss playtime -- 46.2%. The Titans were the worst in the league at 40.3%, edging out the Rams with 40.4%. The Bills tied with the Raiders for #7 in the league with 56.7%. The Bengals came in at #12 wtih 55.1%. In short: if Veach signs you to "you're playing all the time" money, you're probably playing all the time. |

Can we adjust that for the 30% of the snaps that Shart should've been on the field for?
