Any boxing fans here? Recently me and a few buddies have had our own little sparring sessions in my friends back yard and it has been a blast! We got 16oz gloves, head gear and mouth piece (nut-cup is optional). At first there were only 3 of us just messing around while my buddy was "training" for some sort of tough man contest...(he took first in a small contest locally) He kept trying to get guys to come over and spar with him and nobody would do it. He finally talked me into it and he is regretting it. We are both heavy weights but I outweigh the guy by about 30lbs, besides the fact that I lift weights 4 days a week and he NEVER lifts so Im much stronger than he is too. He was quick but I had all the power. Three one minute rounds is the format. Our bout didnt last one minute...he came at me with alot of speed but no power so I just stood there and took it, when he got close enough i would just unload a hard hook into his temple! BOOM! he goes down! Gets up....BOOM, he goes down. He gets up, BOOM....he is no longer training for the tough man contest. What a blast! Now we are trying to set up a weekly beer-drinking sparring sessions.

When I was in college we would love when the high schoolers would come and spend the weekend with us. We would "spar" (it was not really sparring, a little more acting) and then hand the gloves to a couple high schoolers. That was great, we'd just stand back and watch em beat the crap out of each other. They'd knock each other out cold, one guy broke his nose, and a few went back home with black eyes.

I used to work with a guy that was a sparring partner of Leonard Spinks. Dude, I poopoo you not, could bench 410lbs. After seeing him spar a few rounds in the gym for his fun, I decided, welp, that's not my game and moved on without any second thoughts.

Got a sophmore in my 4th period Special Topics S.S. class and he can bench 345. 16 years old and can bench that, needless to say he is a football player also.

Reminds me of when I was working as a bouncer. Some little fu*ker would try to beat up the biggest guy in the place (usually me) to prove his manhood. If he gets beat to a pulp he says "hey, the guy was twice my size" but usually I would hit them once and they would crumble to the ground while their buddies would be laughing hysterically at his zany antics...The macho streak runs amok at times with us he-man.
