Duck - Usually logic reigns your posts, but when it comes to George Bush you stretch yourself way too thin. You carry a heavy grudge and it shows in your posts.
Who cares if he is dyslexic? I seriously doubt that it would cause any new issues that have not already arisen in the last half century of his life. I am more concerned about a habitual admitted liar in office (like Gore) than a man who sees words backwards. |

Bob Dole's ex is dyslexic, as are both her brothers to varying degrees. All three are very successful in their chosen careers (land development in Colorado, HP engineer, registered dietitian) because they work hard to overcome the problem. One of the three is probably ADD, which fits the 30% crossover, oddly enough.
While it can be a problem (which seems to worsen when the person is under stress), it is not a debilitating affliction. |

What is ironic is that the left is always telling us that NO disability should restrict anybody from doing ANYTHING!
Even if he suffers from dyslexia, it is one of the least disruptive neurological disorders that exists. Overwhelmingly most dyslexics function at 100% capacity. Duck, what's really IRONIC, however, is your pointing out Bush missusing certain words. It's ironic because Bush has done it ACCIDENTLY, whereas Clinton/Gore missuse words PURPOSELY. It has been the Conservatives that have been saying for eight years now... WORDS MEAN THINGS! Luz you're a little late to the band wagon...
|

I am sure that Duck believes that Franklin Delano should have been removed from office the day he went into a wheel chair as well.
Damn cripples and handicaps taking up good office space, right Duck? |

Duck-
Here is a tip. Vanity Fair is a rag. (Are you a subscriber?) Gail Sheehy is a physco-babbling hack. If your intent is to be taken serously when you post such things, use a better source. The Enquirer and the Star tabloids have reporters with better credibility than her.
|

The Wolfman has me pegged. I'm not very good at bashing, but trying to do my part to even things out. Apparently, few folks will bat an eye at Gore and Demo bashing. Then react indignantly when someone Bush and Repub bashes. You rag on Gore's faults, I rag on Bush's faults. We don't want to seem too lopsided here. A bash for a bash....
But being a good communicator is important for a president. And since Bush has no redeeming quality that over-rides his language problem, the country would be better served if their mouthpiece had a handle on the language. If he's just going to be a front man for the cabinet, get someone that can speak coherently. |

How can I argue with logic like this?! How about by saying that the simple fact that Bush wants to give me back some of MY money and get guvment out of my life as much as possible is redeeming enough. If he follows through on that much he could speak in pig-latin for all I care. Tell me again about Gore's redeeming qualities? And leave out potential fiction novelist. |

Pam - He was not totally wheelchair bound until after he was in office. He deliberately used canes, walking sticks, etc. to get around the public eye and would not rest in the chair until he was out of sight. He did so for a few years. He was afraid the american public would see him as weak otherwise.
