Printers could join Chiefs practice roster
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/news_story/?ID=217325&hubname
Printers could join Chiefs practice roster Former BC Lions quarterback Casey Printers is still considering a practice roster spot with the Kansas City Chiefs who cut him earlier this week. Printers told TSN that he had been offered a spot on the Chiefs practice roster, however the offer could not be formally made until Printers clears waivers on Sunday. The Arizona Cardinals have expressed interest in Printers prior to the cut down date; however they would have to put him on their active roster if they signed him at this stage. The CFL may be Printers best option from a financial standpoint as he could earn up to $500,000 in Canada while he would only earn $100,000 on an NFL practice roster. Several teams, including the Toronto Argonauts would likely be interested in Printers' services. Printers believes that he still has a shot to play with the Chiefs as starting pivot Damon Huard is not 100% healthy while backup Brodie Croyle struggled during the pre-season. He has told Chiefs coach Herman Edwards that he would accept a practice roster spot if he clears waivers. Printers last played in the CFL with the Lions in 2005. His best season came in 2004 when he threw for 5,088 yards and 35 touchdowns while completing 65.8 per cent of his passes. Printers also rushed for 469 yards and nine touchdowns that season. |

The reports locally (yesterday at least) were that they were intending to put him on the practice squad, too.

I think I'd opt for the 1k and practice squad over playing in -20 degree temps.

What can I say, these 30 degree winters are getting to me. I notice you've chosen to live in the warmer winter areas too.
