Upcoming Military Robot Could Feed on Dead Bodies
It could be a combination of 19th-century mechanics, 21st-century technology — and a 20th-century horror movie.
A Maryland company under contract to the Pentagon is working on a steam-powered robot that would fuel itself by gobbling up whatever organic material it can find — grass, wood, old furniture, even dead bodies. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,...0:b26413028:z0 The advantages to the military are that the robot would be extremely flexible in fuel sources and could roam on its own for months, even years, without having to be refueled or serviced. |

it begins
Seriously, though, just because something can be made, doesn't always mean it should be made.

That is what I was thinking ... badly wounded, incapable of fending of a robot intent upon "refueling" on your still sensitive parts ... ouch.

Good Afternoon, the wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea but in space or on top of a really tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots and as you leave here today, your duty is clear. To build and maintain those robots. Thank You.
