Devils current player Alexander Vasyunov also died. Horrible year so far for the NHL. On top of that their star player has head issues. I hate Crosby, but if I am running the NHL, this year couldn't get much worse. On top of that there will be a CBA issue next year with ex-baseball Union head Donald Fehr running the NHLPA.

was there something else that I am missing other than the plane crash? What else has been bad for the nhl this summer.
