PLEASE VOTE! Facebook games in real life... opinions needed!

OK, I am programming some new facebook games that have real world applications and I need some opinions on which one's have merit. these are to help promote certain bars/restaurants...

(also, any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated)

Here are basic descriptions of them...

#1 "hitman" game where you are assigned targets (restaurant and bar staff) that you have to "kill" by taking a phone pic of them at work then uploading it to the app. the game runs for 1 week at a time and winners get prizes at the sponsoring bar.

#2 foursquare "gangs" .. this is more complex because it is for people using the foursquare social gps phone app (it lets you "check in" at venues and share the info with your friends). Currently foursquare users can become "mayor" of a place by having more check ins than anyone else... my facebook app would let you form a "gang" of fourquare users that would compete vs other users for "turf".. things like most total check ins would determine which gang controlled what turf.

#3 monopoly! I haven't figured out how exactly to do this... but basically it would be a monopoly board that was made up of real bars/restaurants and when you land on a property... to "buy" it... you have a certain amount of time to actually go there and get a secret password that unlocks it... if you don't do so in time.. it goes to "auction" for anyone else to swing by the actual bar and get the passkey to buy it... there would be more to it with weekly events etc... probably run it every 2-3 months...

#4 a facebook scavenger hunt that takes place all week long with clues being revealed to each player/team daily and they have 24 hours to complete that days scavenge... the clues would get you into the sponsoring bars to find the hint for you for that day

... the PURPOSE of these is to help promote certain businesses yet also be fun enough to catch on with large groups...

and yeah I know they all are kinda ghey.

You should do facebook stalking. Where you stalk someone you like in real life and try to snatch a pic of them in the shower or something. Although, you may have to get local law enforcements approval. Not sure the paperwork you would need to file.

There's a fictional game in the Cory Doctorow book Little Brother (great book, btw) called Harajuku Fun Madness that I've always through would be a cool thing to tie into social networking. There's a thread about it here and about some real life games that are similar to it. Might be another avenue to explore for ideas.

I've never played a Facebook game.

EDIT: that's not true, actually. Dungeons & Dragons: Tiny Adventures was pretty cool.

It looks like the most useful one that might have application is a Japanese game called Mogi. Here's a post on it that contains some interesting looking articles about locational/gps gaming:

Would you play a game like that if somehow it was tied into real world places that you had to visit at some point to get a bonus or unlock a quest, etc etc

FWIW, I think this has a lot of potential. Augmented Reality Games utilizing the energy and tools of social networking could be huge in the future.

And a huge market for businesses to tap in to if they structure it well... If they are willing to "play along" they can really expand their client base

Like a more interactive version of 4square? Probably.

I would think some kind of geocache game with complex clues that you had to figure out would be possible.

That's what I was thinking. I geocache if it's a puzzle, takes me to some place interesting, or a good hike is involved. I pass on the quick finds.

Hitman is winning so far... ok, here are the simple rules I am thinking for it...

each player gets 5 easy targets (bar staff from various bars) and they get 3 "hard" targets... fellow players... the only info they have on the fellow players are their facebook pics and those players' targets...

The game would run from Wednesday to Wednesday... with prizes given out at the sponsoring bars the following weekend.

Any additional rules, ideas?
