You should do facebook stalking. Where you stalk someone you like in real life and try to snatch a pic of them in the shower or something. Although, you may have to get local law enforcements approval. Not sure the paperwork you would need to file.

There's a fictional game in the Cory Doctorow book Little Brother (great book, btw) called Harajuku Fun Madness that I've always through would be a cool thing to tie into social networking. There's a thread about it here and about some real life games that are similar to it. Might be another avenue to explore for ideas.

I've never played a Facebook game.
EDIT: that's not true, actually. Dungeons & Dragons: Tiny Adventures was pretty cool. |

It looks like the most useful one that might have application is a Japanese game called Mogi. Here's a post on it that contains some interesting looking articles about locational/gps gaming:

Would you play a game like that if somehow it was tied into real world places that you had to visit at some point to get a bonus or unlock a quest, etc etc

FWIW, I think this has a lot of potential. Augmented Reality Games utilizing the energy and tools of social networking could be huge in the future.

And a huge market for businesses to tap in to if they structure it well... If they are willing to "play along" they can really expand their client base

I would think some kind of geocache game with complex clues that you had to figure out would be possible.

Hitman is winning so far... ok, here are the simple rules I am thinking for it...
each player gets 5 easy targets (bar staff from various bars) and they get 3 "hard" targets... fellow players... the only info they have on the fellow players are their facebook pics and those players' targets... The game would run from Wednesday to Wednesday... with prizes given out at the sponsoring bars the following weekend. Any additional rules, ideas? |
