synchronicity
This is a little off the beaten path, but weird enough to merit mention.
Not 20 minutes ago, I was reading an article on SNL's non-live segments, culminating in Lazy Sunday.
The article mentioned pre-prepared material going clear back to Belushi's infamous graveyard bit.
In the early 90s, there was a skit with Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, Ben Stiller with Will Ferrell as Glen Frey [The H is O, ie, The Heat is On]. It was one of Fallon's earliest collaborations with Adam McKay [Anchorman, Eastbound and Down]. Stiller was a guy who could bed anyone on 5 lines or less, he bedded 'Glen Frey' in 3 lines, but it wasn't . . . .edifying.
There was a bit part with a Jon Glaser in the bit, literally two lines, and there were links showing how Glaser was very influential in the mid-90s prepared bit for SNL scene after Schiller and before TV Funhouse and Lazy Sunday
Then I go to Parks and Recreation from JUST YESTERDAY where Jon Glaser, who I previously knew nothing about, and he's taking up half the episode as Leslie and April's foil 'Jamm' on the city council.
