Is our offensive scheme too simple? Was it figured out too easily?
People are talking endlessly about Romeo's shitty scheme but I think our offense is just as bad.

We looked really good against the Falcons for a half. Then, after halftime, we were utter shit apart from a handul of plays on the first drive (which stalled).

We come out Sunday against a vastly inferior defense, and the first 5 drives generate 71 yards. Dexter, the supposed bright shiny new playmaker, is a complete non factor. The running game ****ing stinks.

So what's the deal. Has Daboll's desperate attempt at creating an offense "suited" to Matt Cassel already failed? Because teams adjusted to what we were doing pretty quickly, and in the space of six quarters this offense looks like shit again.

I can't imagine it getting better this weekend.

I think the rest of the NFL has figured out that if they stack the box to stuff the run, clog up throwing lanes forcing Cassel to win the game that he can't. Until he starts forcing LB's and Safeties back into coverage by consistently hitting down field targets nothing will change.

The Chiefs on offense have been at their best when they are going no huddle, and with a short/medium pass-oriented attack.

It certainly is better than watching Hillis run for no gain up the middle every first down.

Dang it! I used Sports Illustrated play-by-play and only came up with 40 + yards for our first 5 "drives" (decided to use the words posessions instead of drives). SI's play by play is damn hard to follow, but 71 yards in 5 "posessions" is still pretty damn poor by any standards.
