Least Deserving Hall of Famers: Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens
VOTE FOR THREE.
With all of the talk about undeserving players like Floyd Little and Jerome Bettis and Terrell Davis, I thought it might be interesting to identify the absolute least deserving people in the Hall of Fame. I'll do this first for players, identifying the least deserving players by team, and then we'll do a heat or two for non-players. I'll put up the teams one at a time, starting with the team you love to hate, the Dallas Cowboys. Pick the THREE least deserving Cowboy players in the Hall of Fame. Poll coming in less time than it takes for Thurman Thomas to find his helmet. You can read profiles of the players here, in a very unfriendly format on the HoF site: https://www.profootballhof.com/heroe...me/franchises/ Rules note: If a team has less than 10 HoFers, I'll combine them with another team to get to that number. |

We really like O.J. Simpson around here.
And who picked Ed Reed as being among the least deserving? I take exception to that.

Reed is the only one that truly doesn't deserve to be in.

Ray Lewis tied for least deserving so far (i'm assuming based on past character issues/murder trial)...meanwhile 0 votes for OJ so far.

Any mention of OJ being removed?
He was inducted long before the murders. Should post career developments affect your hall of fame eligibility?

The NFL Hall of Fame eligibility requirements SPECIFICALLY state that off field activities are NOT to be considered. For that reason, you can ignore whatever OJ did after his career was over, and whatever murders Ray Lewis did or did not commit. It's on field ONLY.
So unless you want to make up an entirely different set of rules for consideration, they're both obviously in based on their on field achievements. Leaving only Andre Reed as someone who may not deserve to be in the HOF. I'm fine with him being in, however. He was 2nd in receptions when he retired, and was a 7 time Pro Bowler. He's no slam dunk, but it's not at all bad. His stats already look less stellar based on the new generation's passing game craze, and that will only worsen over time, but he's reasonably deserving.

Meanwhile, good poll (as always) Rain Man, but why not make the voting public?

But I'm willing to hear arguments for and against. What's your reasoning that a public poll would be superior in this case?
