Chiefs re-sign Flowers
http://chiefsblog.kansascity.com/?q=node/1822
The Chiefs have agreed on a long-term contract extension with cornerback Brandon Flowers. Flowers is in the final year of the contract he signed as a rookie in 2008. Details of his new contract were not immediately available. Flowers’ signing continues the pattern that the Chiefs began to establish last year of signing their better young players to long-term contracts. The Chiefs signed linebacker Derrick Johnson and running back Jamaal Charles to multi-year contracts in the middle of last season. They signed linebacker Tamba Hali for the long term during training camp this year. Flowers, 25, was the Chiefs’ second-round draft pick in 2008 and became an immediate starter. He began to establish himself as one of the league’s better cornerbacks last season. Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and cornerback Brandon Carr are two of the Chiefs remaining young players who are in the final seasons of their respective contracts.
