DV: Johnson to play Fujita's spot...
listening to the press conference on 810. DV said DJ will play the left side LB spot which is where Fujita plays. Said we don't have a SLB and WLB position, but rather a Right and Left LB spot.

that's kind weird

maybe they SHOULD have a WLB and SSLB ... maybe they would get more consistency out of the linebacker corp with it.

left general = WLB imo though

I think he meant that Fuj was a right sider and that Johnson was a left sider...he also said Johnson could play either

Wonder if we are still considering Bell in the MLB spot. If so, does that put Fox at the RLB spot which was Barbers?

He said straight up, that DJ would play the left LB spot which is where Fujita plays.

yeah I heard it, but I thought maybe he understood the orientation different...is it right/left as you're facing the offense, or as you're facing the defense?

That's an excellent point. For the past couple of years they've only had a Weak-side LB and a Weaker-side LB. I think I'd change the names to Left and Right too.

if your looking at the defense from the offensive side of the ball then the left side is where shawn barber played and where derrick johnson will play.
