Took a class in HS, but am still a pretty piss poor typist. The one thing that made me a better typest was when I switched to one of the MS ergonomic keyboards. The keyboard on the new laptop is a bitch though, the K T . all have issues, I hope it gets better with time, because remembering to smack those keys harder then the others is getting to be annoying.

I can probably type about 50 or 60 wpm. I took a typing class which was immensely helpful and then took regular college classes which were even more helpful (lots of practice writing papers).

Maybe one of these days I will take a speed-reading class and then I can think back on all the time I wasted studying when I could have been done in half the time.

The best way to increase your typing speed is to find a hot co-worker to e-mail back and forth all day.

I took a typing back in high school, sophomore year IIRC. It helps that I am a tester/programmer on a computer system.

I am not sure what my typing rate is, but I am sure it is around 60 wpm...

I also took a class in HS but I already had my own little system that I couldn't break out of. Certain fingers always hit certain keys but it isn't very logical.
