Conduct and substance abuse violations cited

May 26, 2006

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -Kansas State leading scorer Cartier Martin has been suspended indefinitely from the team for unspecified conduct violations.

Also, guard Mario Taybron was dismissed from the basketball team for violating the school's policy on substance abuse, athletics director Tim Weiser announced Friday.

Weiser said he and basketball coach Bob Huggins would not comment further and that details of the violations would not be released.

Martin, a forward, averaged 18 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds last year as a junior.

Taybron would have been a senior in the upcoming season. He transferred to Kansas State from Eastern Oklahoma State.

Taybron = drugs and failure to appear (3rd time this has been an issue with the drugs)

First of all, I refuse to give a guy from K-State a trendy nick name like CMart. The defendant, I mean Cartier Martin should be booted for a second time but with Huggins at the helm who am I kidding. He could get caught distrubuting nuclear weapons to al quaida and he'd only get a slap on the wrist by KState.

What gives ? These are typical run of the mill Huggy type of players ? At least in the past if Cincy is any indication.

No way is Huggy going to run a clean program..... No way. This is just a show of faith to the NCAA, thats all .

BTW, you see where the NCAA slaped Sampson at IU ?
