William "The Refrigerator'' Perry Loves Fireworks
I had to laugh a little at this one. If you are buying fireworks in Kansas this weekend keep a look out for the Fridge. I guess he loves them.
Story last updated at 11:43 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006 'Fridge' to visit Pittsburg By JIM HENRY Morning Sun Staff Writer William "The Refrigerator'' Perry, one of the most beloved big men in National Football League history, is coming to Pittsburg on Sunday as part of a five-day, three-state tour of Jake's Fireworks locations. Perry will be at Jake's Fireworks, 3002 N. Broadway in Pittsburg, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Autographs - limit of two per person - can be obtained with a $10 purchase at Jake's. " 'Fridge' lives in the same town (Aiken, S.C.) as Josh Lawson, one of our retail guys,'' said Jason Marietta, retail sales manager of Jake's. " 'Fridge' and he met. He came out to one of our shoots and loved it. He talked to my uncle about an appearance, and he had this time open. " 'Fridge' loves fireworks. We're going to come out with one next year called 'The Fridge.' '' Perry's nine-year NFL career began in 1985 as a defensive tackle on the Chicago Bears' Super Bowl championship team. He also saw action in the backfield with the Bears and scored a touchdown in Super Bowl XX. http://morningsun.net/stories/062906...60629035.shtml |
