It goes both ways. I personally would say the love that results from after getting to know each other for a while is more resilient to MTG factors.

At first sight, I have to say all I saw was a hot chick with a great rack...but we were both in HS at the time. Over the years I've learned the difference between "feeling" love and actually being in love. Loving your wife is a choice you make, because let's face it, there are a million women in the world who I could love, but I choose to love this one. Somehow that makes it even more intense and real than any feeling I've ever had.

I was smitten for sure; but we emailed, and talked on the phone for a few months before our first 'date'. at the time, neither one of us were looking to 'date' etc, so getting to know her as a new friend of sorts was very cool. We finally went on a date and it's been great ever since.

I think the fairy tale of love at first sight requires a narrow mind. How could 6 billion people roam the planet, and only 1 of them be compatible for you?

Combine that with the notion that love and marriage takes patience, and sacrifice and it kind of throws the whole theory out the window. I could be patient and make sacrifices for anyone I choose too.

Love at first sight is really nothing more than teenage lust.
