I don't know but it's testament to the generation, they don't respect anything. I don't know if a disk IMAGE copy would work
Google around....

If you have small kids, it would be less of a hassle to get the protection plan for the games when you buy them.

If you just talking about the Wii... then no. There's no legal way to copy the games and have them work in a normal Wii.
There are methods of opening the Wii, doing some solder work, and flashing a chip on the board that would allow you to play copied games. But the process is very technical and I wouldn't recommend it for somebody that doesn't have experience doing it. It also voids your warranty. Best off to get the protection plan... (I won't bother suggesting the morally-challenging method of renting the same game from Blockbuster and doing a switcharoo)

I'm sure there's a way to do it, but it's probably not legal. I've found that those hand-crank buffing things they sell at Best Buy are fairly effective for removing scratches. That's one thing I miss about the old cartridge type games I grew up with, they were practically indestructible.

Am I the only one that thinks every Blockbuster store I've ever been in smells like a wet dog/asshole?

It's pretty easy to spot the switcharoo because the store cord is ususally written on the inside ring of the game along with a initial or something from the person who was taking it out of the box when the game came in. Of course video store members are ususally too lazy, too stoned, too pregnant, to care.

Somewhere in there between renting the games from blockbuster, switching the games, then forging a sig, you have to admit what you are doing is wrong.

Yeah, I'm not advocating it by any means.
And fuck Blockbuster. Hard. I went in there and rent a game, and for a 5 day rental it's now 7.99 or some crazy sh*t. You can rent it up to a week for a dollar more a day. I pay something like $13 a month for a Gamefly account and $15 for a Netflix account. Blockbuster and Hastings won't see a bit of my money. And Hastings charges 4.99 to rent a blu-ray. That's not too insane, but still, 3 rentals a month at Hastings, and I might as well spend that money on Netflix. I think I've already viewed something like 7 movies this month through Netflix. That would have cost me somewhere in the $35-40 range at Hastings or Blockbuster. I suppose the only real bummer is you have to wait a couple days until you get your movie. If I get a movie on Tuesday, watch it Tuesday night and have it back in the mail by Wednesday morning, I'll have another on at my house on Friday. So I can handle that, just takes a little bit of planning. Not much though. |

The RedBox is just another reason why McDonald's own the fucking world. Pretty genius stuff right there. They don't offer blu-rays to my knowledge, but still, you really can't beat the whole $1 a day rental option. And they're everywhere. I believe there are something like 8 in the St. Joseph area. Hell, we have 3 Blockbusters I believe, a couple Movie Galleries, a couple Hollywood Videos, and a Hastings. I'm sure there are a few in the South End I'm missing, but I rarely venture to that alternate universe. The point being, there are probably just as many RedBoxes in this town as there are real movie stores. And they don't close either. Although Blockbuster stays open until 12:30 or something like that anyhow. |
