The St. Louis Rams have released linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, the team's leading tackler last season.

Tinoisamoa made 135 tackles, including 88 solo, last season. He also notched three sacks.

"This was a difficult decision based on a lot of factors," said first-year Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo. "I have a great deal of respect for Pisa and wish him all of the best."

The Rams selected Tinoisamoa in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft. In his first season, he became the first Rams rookie to lead the team in tackles when he made 121 stops.

After playing every game in his first three NFL seasons and leading the club in tackles each year, Tinoisamoa missed five games because of injury in 2006 and missed seven games in 2007.

The six-year veteran from Hawaii has 661 tackles, including 418 solo, with 10 sacks and seven interceptions in his career.

Had a productive year for the Rams last season.

He's good when he's healthy. He's made of glass though.

But considering that our LB core is the weakest unit on the team it doesn't hurt to bring him in.

The guy was a stud on my franchise team back when I still played Madden in 05. Based on the expert knowledge of have of his abilities, I'd say sign him.

Thsis guy is a stud. Playing for the and on the field all the time on defense, he's gotta be tough. He won't come cheap so be prepared to bid high. Much rather have him than a prima donna like Karlos Dansby.

As a guy that played against him in highschool, he is Samoan and he has a nasty attitude, I definitely think he would be solid for us. I think being on the field all day, might have something to do with his injuries.

The Rams D sucked, so being the leading tackler is not an honor. I think the Donnie Edwards comment is correct...he is the only guy who could tackle after 10+ yards. Nothing special here now move along.
