Caught the 2nd and most of the 3rd period of the Blues game last night.
I hate that team with a passion, but I agree with previous sentiments that in the next few years they will be pretty good. They need someone in goal, but that will come. Good for the league...bad for the Wings. Tonight the Wings begin their defense against the Blue Jackets. Not too worried in this round. |

However...2 5 on 3s with nothing to show? That's such a huge lift for the team killing. (although, I'd argue 5 on 3 is harder to score on than 5 on 4). All that said, the Canucks had quite a few "just missed" opportunities, as well. The D looks a little suspect. I hope they get through, just because I want the Wings to play them. I love the rivalry. |

I am not as excited this year about the playoffs once the stars were eliminated. I would like to see Chicago come out of the west, but could also see Vancouver with the way the Sundins and Luongo are playing. Please not San Jose or Detroit. Come on Columbus!

But yeah, special teams, which are normally their strength really sucked last night. Both Vancouver goals were with a man advantage, and the Blues were something like 1-8 on the PP. The goal was actually a gift from Luongo, who didn't control a rebound and kicked it directly onto Boyes' stick for an empty netter. |

Go Wings! The series with Columbus will be a very tough one. I really like the fact that Chicago, St. Louis and Columbus have made the playoffs. I might not like it as much if one of them eliminates the Wings but overall, I agree with Sully, it makes for better hockey.
