Charles for Feature Back

Time for him to be the #1. Especially with the line the way it is, his speed suits a terrible line a lot better than the over the hill Larry Johnson who doesn't shed tacklers anymore.

I think Johnson could still be effective on a good team but he's not good enough to succeed on this one. At least Charles has something that might help him make a few yards. Time for Charles (and the others) to get the majority of the touches.

I feel sorry for Charles. It seems like every time he makes a play, it gets called back because of a penalty.

Hell, I feel sorry Cassel and every skill player on this team. They can't make plays because our line is so bad.

Pioli owes Todd Haley an apology.

Charles is a good player but I question if he can be a #1 back he just isn't built to be one in the NFL.

He can be a #1. He can't be a workhorse. We need somebody who can come in and take a good chunk of the carries every game so Charles doesn't get knocked around too much.

This whole workhorse thing is a thing of the past anyway. Most #1 backs are only carrying it 300 times a year nowadays. That's less than 20 carries a game.

Haley runs a balanced offense so we're never gonna hand it to one guy 416 times.

Because a feature back is by far our most pressing need, right?
