I think Cam Newton's going to remind too many teams of a rich man's Josh Freeman as a prospect.
He'll go Top 15. |

Ayers would be my selection, but imagine if we did end up picking Powe.
We'd finally get to see what these DEs are made of now that we have a NT that earns two blockers every down. |

The only thing Newton and Freeman have in common is their skin tone.

Ayers looking unimpressive against Temple, of all teams.
Have a very Vrabel-like quality to him. Vrabel of 2010. |

UCLA plays Ayers as a 4-3 OLB more than they do a passrusher.
He's a project. A great project. But Pioli was burnt by all the projects in the 2009 draft, so he went with the more failsafe players of the 2010 draft. Pioli prefers failsafes. |

Locker isn't going to fall to us... but if he does, we could do a lot worse. |

Think 1st round is a reach for a NT.
Don't know anything about Ayers. But I'll tell you what, you bring in a legit OLB (like he or Von Hayes) and bring in a Nose Tackle (I think the Chiefs could easily land Aubrayo Franklin) and this defense could be vastly improved by those two moves alone. |
