For a refurb, sure. If you get 6 months out of it, I'd say it was money well spent.

Factory refurbished items are just as good as new. They are rebuilt to original specs and go through the same tests before being shipped.

The only downside to a factory refurb is the warranty. That product new is $80 but comes with a lifetime limited warranty. You'll save a lot of money buying the refurb but you are only going to get a 30 day limited warranty.

No not at all. I was just saying if it did just last 6 months. Refurbs can and do last as long as a brand new product.

some might argue refurbs can be better, as they are thoroughly tested after the repairs, whereas factory units are only spot checked usually (hence the reason for refurbs)

Some people hate them...as near as I can tell, for no good reason.

I have a refurb 52 inch flatscreen that will be see it's 4th March Madness this year. I bought it back when those things were about $2,400 for $800 as a factory refurb. It's been a great TV.

I have a refurb laptop that's never given me problems either.

Beware the refurb snobs; most of them have had a bad experience and then decided to join the mob of other refurb snobs...as though you'll never get a lemon from a NIB item.

Frank, I work with these things for a living. Stay away from Netgear and Belkin. Linksys is king ATM.
