Starting center game one

Nick Jacobs wrote this in Arrowhead Pride:

Potential Surprise Moves

1) Rodney Hudson: I wouldn't be surprised to see him cut on the final day. I know he is a starter but he has had struggles on tape. Not sure he fits this system long term. But there will need to be an upgrade on the open market.

How could this happen? Even if they found someone much better on the waver wire how could they have any kind of communication in the offensive line established by the start of the season? There is no way Kush could start in the interim.

Are we going to trade for Lilja?

I haven't watched the center position much, so I don't know his travails. What's not working? Run protection? Pass protection? Both?

who the hell is going to start at center if they cut Hudson?

Kush didn't look any better against backups

i saw Draheim get abused several times

i supposed they could switch starters but they aren't going to cut Hudson.

I've been saying this all along.

The Hudson love is laughable. This guy just isn't very good. Guys keep talking about this cat like he's the next big thing in the center of our line and I just don't know where they get it.

I'm sure he'll start for us because C is weak here and throughout the league, but Hudson's still a seriously weak link on this O-line. I'd love to see a way to get Schwartz on the field more; if that means converting him or Jeff Allen, maybe it's worth a shot (though both of them seem a little too upright for the role).

Kush looks like he weighs about 240. It'd be like the 1960s.

Could Hudson play guard any better or does he just suck all around? Just seems like our whole O-Line is weak in the last couple games.

I don't get it. He was an elite guard in college and a really good prospect coming out.

I keep thinking maybe he's taking time to learn to play center, but man it's rough. He's just inconsistent.

Fwiw, I think Jeff Allen just player his best game as a chief Saturday as well.

Entire O Line looks weak. Scared about this.

Hudson was my biggest concern after the Steelers game. Got blown up twice on the opening drive. Once leading to Jamaal getting tackled for a loss, and the other led to a sack. Smith couldn't step up into the pocket because Hudson got pushed straight back.

The Steelers were #1 against the run and #2 against the pass last year. The 49ers are pretty ****ing good defense too.

Hudson is fine and Nick Jacobs is an idiot. You don't just start a center all spring and summer and then cut him a week before the season starts.

Kush is OK but, looks like a rookie.

Asamoah is probably the back up. He took snaps during OTAs and training camp.
