Playoff Conflict
So, the grown son of one of my very dear friends is getting married Saturday at 3:00. It's a local wedding. In fact, I'm catering the rehearsal dinner Friday. But, I've known this kid most of his life and he's just a really outstanding kid from a great family...

My question is, what kind of gift should I have delivered when I miss his wedding due to a football game?

Unless you actually have some role in the wedding, attending the actual ceremony is way overrated. Chances are they won't miss you one bit. Just slip in during the reception.

Plan B is that you're sick, but you have to start laying the groundwork for that a few days early.

I think he means, why would anyone schedule a weeding around the NFL football play offs. Yes, people still will go,but some wont especially if their team is in the play offs. As we all know the NFL is huge and fans are insane. Its why people get married usually in the ****ing summer. Nice weather and nothing really going on.

Wedding at 3? Not a problem, you can do both. Set the dvr, rush out right as the ring is slipped on (be loud and obvious with your applause so he knows you were there), and you can fast forward through some commercials when you get home. Go to the reception after the game is over.
