Tell me what you know about power washing a house
Ok, here's the deal. Our vinyl sided house is looking kind of ratty with dirt, mold, etc., and could use a good washing.

I have a small power washer and was originally thinking of getting on a ladder and doing it myself, but now i'm thinking it might be easier (obviously) to hire some one to just come out and do it so i don't have to hassle with it.

So...any tips/tricks should i decide to go solo, or anyone know of a reputable firm the the KC area that performs such services?

I'd use bleach on the areas first. You'll be surprised how much comes off with some bleach in a pump sprayer. Then most of it should just rinse off with the smaller pressure washer you have.

you can use some diluted simple green in the reservoir

or you can go to HD or Lowes and get some of the pressure washer soap designed for that particular application

also, don't accidentally get too close and gouge the siding or peel the maint

finally, don't shoot yourself at close range with the washer. it can make a nice little raw spot on your skin.

It really sounds like common sense-but I had a painting business for years back in the day.

Call around and get some bids and see how you feel about it then.
If you use some "yard boy" type they are probably not insured and if something, anything happens you will be liable for the damage to your home or to them.
If you decide to do it yourself I would recommend renting some scaffolding. It is really pretty cheap. Last time I did that it was $25 for a week for one complete section with walk boards.
Definitely use some cleaner, bleach does work, but you will want to be careful. Generally the small pressure washers do not have the reservoir on them. Is your hose and wand setup long enough to reach not only the side of the house, but also your fascia and soffit?
