From the trailer, it looks like a sequel to WAY more than Clerks... I see elements of dogma, J&SBSB and more. Can't wait foir it to show up here in BFE... Kevin Smith ROCKS!

As I've said before, I think all those movies - Dogma, Chasing Amy, J&SBSB - are essentially sequels to clerks, at least inasmuch as they feature the same cast, some of the same characters, and at least weakly interlinked storylines. So Clerks II is just another in a long line of sequels to Clerks. Still, it does look promising, and I hope to get out to see it pretty soon.

I know what you mean... it just looks more like a vehicle for J&SB (who were really VERY minor charcters in Clerks 1) than the story of Dante & Randal.

I'm only assuming they're in the movie more, since i haven't seen it yet. They seem to be the center of the View Askewniverse anymore, so it would just make sense to feature them more. After all, J&SBSB grossed something like 10x what Clerks originally did. Kevin ain't stupid.

Did you know that it wasn't until I saw Dogma, that it clicked that Silent Bob and Kevin Smith were the same person?

Then again, I don't follow movies close enough to know who directs what, let alone what they look like. |

It is only getting one star out of five with most critics. Only Lady in the Lake is getting worse reviews. |

I'm a known cynic, so believe me when I say that this movie wasn't dissapointing. Very funny; an above average film perhaps. Raunch and controversial in that Clerks way, but it has this element of sweetness in it and allows for actual growth for the characters.
If you like Kevein Smith movies, you'll like Clerks II. Period. |

I got home at midnight last night, popped in "An Evening with Kevin Smith". Ended up watching the whole damned thing. (Around 4 hours) I'd forgotten how good that DVD was. |

Not that viewer ratings are the final word or anything, but so far it's getting pretty good reviews over on IMDB. Anything over a 7 is typically a pretty good flick, and it's rated a 7.6 right now.

Now, I'm wanting to go see it even more. Anyone free? Nah, I think I'll wait a few weeks for the crowds to settle down a bit.
