And yes, the Chiefs take the compensatory pick and run. But you only get comp picks if your not handing out big FA contracts.....
I don't really expect the Chiefs to do much of anything in free agency for that reason. |

Agreed. He was a solid player for us who could play all across the line. He was always going to get paid. 7M a year sounds about right. I thought he'd be in the 5-7M range.

5M is probably the accurate number of his deal. The numbers that first "leak" out are from the agent and include the final contract year(s) where everything balloons and artificially inflates the value for PR purposes.
