The Mystery of the Defensive Holding Call Against Scandrick...

Has anyone seen this? 810 asked both Teicher and Mellinger if they saw it or saw a replay of it and both said they have not.

Such a critical penalty without a single replay leaves one to question the legitimacy of the Officiating.

Scene:
It's a nationally televised game. The Steelers who have a large following, nationwide, are at home coming off a piss-poor showing against the lowly Cleveland Browns.

They find themselves down 21-0 with several minutes left to go in the 1st quarter when Justin Houston forces a strip-sack and Chris Jones recovers the fumble for a TD. Chiefs 28, Steelers 0 still time left in the 1st quarter.

The NFL can sense televisions across the country changing channels. So here comes a flag on a play totally away from the ball that no one has yet to see. "Holding, defense. 5 yard penalty, automatic 1st down".

The Steelers are pulled from the brink. Fans keep their tvs on the game to see if they score. Crisis averted for the NFL.

No one has seen the penalty save the guy who called it apparently. Not one single replay. Such a game changing penalty and not one replay.

Yeah, something isn't stirring the Kool-Aid on this....

This is why penalties should be reviewable. I don't care if it slows down the game. It's horseshit that a ref can throw a flag and the viewing audience gets no replay of what happened.

They couldn't handle one of the favored sons getting blown out...you notice how the flags went down as soon as it got tied up?

As I mentioned in the game thread yesterday, they were able to show a back end zone line camera angle but not one for the front when the Steelers scored barely on a running play (mysteriously).

Especially on a penalty that:

A) Takes away a turnover

&

B) Takes away a TD

&

C) Gives the fumbling team a 1st down when they were otherwise stopped

Imagine the ratings hit the NFL would take if all the Steelers fans changed the channel with time still left in the 1st quarter??

This thing wreaks of bullshit

The NFL favors certain teams. I don't think they out right make sure they win but they made sure the Steelers didn't lose 55-21.

If that Jones TD stands the Steelers likely jus give up at that point.

they also conveniently didn't show a replay on the Ben scramble touchdown, where Houston got tackled before Ben broke the pocket.

I look at this a different way than most. I hope to god Scandrick ripped a jersey off.

I need to keep lying to myself so I can still enjoy football.

If not, this will be the 11tybillionth example of the NFL manipulating games.

Officials are not this incompetent. It’s impossible.
