The only difference we'll see is the tried'n'true, ever-so-subtle, shift in Democrat rhetoric. You know the one where they go from the focus on taking credit for everything good that happens anywhere in the world to the focus blaming republicans for everything bad that happens anywhere in the world.
Because, as everyone knows, not a sparrow drops from the sky, save GO-D, sorry GO-vernment takes notice. |

Yeah, I'm sure. The entire economy is going straight down. The Internet will no longer exist. Cable modem, DSL...gone. There will never again be a need for technical people, or people to teach them. Engineers? What for. The country will turn into a bunch of whinny, bet wetting democratic lawyers. Summer vacations? Nah, won't be able to afford them. Life as we know it will stop. We will once again have graduates flipping burgers. Save your selves!!!! Run for the hills!

How refreshing, the ink on Sauls' decision isn't even dry and the Dems' are out with the same, tired, visions of the apocolypse. In case you haven't noticed, we are still in this together. but if every Dem is gonna decide that the economy is shit and there's no more reason to even try, I would imagine that order of pessimism could have an impact on the economy.
Republicans and Democrats both want to create wealth. Difference is, when the Dems are in power, Repubs don't let that fact get in the way of creating wealth. Let Dems lose power, however, and they can't do a d@mn thing for all the b!tching they feel is their duty 'as americans.'. |

Well the Republicans are in total control of Washington now, so we're going to find out how good their policies are...

I don't want to hear any crap about Democrats blaming Republicans for everything wrong with America once Dubya takes office.
All Republicans have been doing for 8 years is crying and whining about how Clinton and the Democrats are destroying the country. Once Bush takes office, you Republicans have nothing to bi_ch about at all. You'll have no one to blame but your fellow Republicans. |

It's because of Reaganomics that our economy is in the shape that it's in. Memory span a little short??

Monty,
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your reply. Are you seriously saying that Reaganomics, which hasn't been in effect for 8 years, is responsible for TODAY'S economy, even though that system isn't in use right now? Let me guess. If there's a recession any time in the next 10 years, it'll be Clinton's fault, even if Bush serves consecutive terms. Am I right? |

can anyone say recession?...
personally, the only reason for the economy to deteriorate is because Bush won't have a mandate to govern...everyone will be fighting everyone because of this stupid way the election progressed and nothing will get done...so the stock market will suffer...the jobs will dry up because new projects won't be approved...and on and on...unless of course Bush proves to be greater than he appears...not likely... What has Bill done since he's been in office except to "stay the course"? The effects of the Reagan/Bush days are felt roughly 4 years after the fact due to implimentation of new policies etc. If Bush screws up, you won't see the full effects until 2004 or so, if even then. You can disagree with me if you want, and I usually don't throw my opinion on this out for everyone to flame, but Reagan spent his time fixing Carter's screw ups and didn't receive the proper credit for it.

Our economy has been slipping for months now. Analysts have been predicting a recession for about a year. Don't pin this one on the republicans. Empower yourself; read!!!

But wait, if the Republicans on Capitol Hill have been taking credit for this great economy, shouldn't they take the blame for the upcoming recession?
