Kiffin fires Rob Ryan and may hire Kiffin Sr from TB
Rob Ryan will be officially out as defensive coordinator sometime this week, free to accept the same position with the New York Jets.
There has been considerable speculation that Kiffin will make every effort to hire his father, Monte Kiffin, as the team's next defensive coordinator. It makes perfect sense. If you're an offensive head coach and want to be on the same wavelength with your defense, who better to add to the staff than your dad? http://www.insidebayarea.com/turn2/ci_7856024 |

If Kiffin's contract is up, Gunther should be replaced immediately.

This is nuts. Both Ryans are on the market? If we don't get one of them then it only further solidifies how dumb the Chiefs organization is.

How nepotic.... Kiffin may hire his dad and then draft Howie's son...

Rob Ryan is going to NY Jets
The word is ... according to Oakland Tribune, Rob Ryan will join his buddy Eric Mangini in NY with same capacity if Raiders DO indeed let him go.
They worked together in NE. Eric wanted to bring him to NY two years ago, but Raiders did not let him leave. Rob Ryan will be definitely an upgrade over Bob Sutton. |

Meanwhile the Raiders never even had a winning season. Not good for Sapp.

Odd that both Ryan's are available, as both seemed to do a good job.
