I will be at the Sprint Center in the first 10 rows guaranteed. The Heartbreakers are the best live act I've ever seen.

In other concert news yours truly and some friends are looking at taking a roadtrip in April to see Porcupine Tree in Chicago.

Not yet. I'm debating on whether or not to buy the big Mojo package which comes with a ticket in the first 15 rows, a CD of the new Heartbreakers album (Mojo), FLAC downloads of 5 Heartbreakers albums, an exculsive shirt, etc.

Oh yeah. I should have read the post of mine you were quoting. To answer: no, I haven't gotten tickets yet. I didn't know they were on sale yet; I should probably get on that.

Just a head's up,go to the Riviera homepage for tickets, there's places out there that are literally trying to rape people.

Just got back from seeing this show at The Gorge in BFE, Washington. If you like the new Petty dataset, then this is the tour for you. As you can see below, a large portion of the set is dedicated to MOJO. It was good, strong material, but I guess I don't go see Tom Petty to hear new music. It was pretty well received, considering the crowd obviously wants him to play the human jukebox. This tour is the tour of Mike Campbell, his guitar work was front and center all night, especially on the new material. The aesthetics of the show were great, he has a new electronic backdrop with flames and other digital visual effects. This being my first show at The Gorge, I was pretty overwhelmed just by the natural beauty surrounding the amphitheater with the Columbia River right behind the stage and the sun setting on the bluffs and millions of stars overhead after dark. It's a crazy place to go see a show. It is literally 200 miles from anywhere. Joe Cocker opened and hit all the Joe Cocker bases.
setlist 1) King’s Highway 2) You Don’t Know How it Feels 3) I Won’t back down 4) Free fallin’ 5) Mary Jane’s Last Dance 6) Breakdown (very extended w/call & response stuff) 7) Drivin’ down to Georgia 8 ) Jefferson Jericho Blues 9) First Flash of Freedom 10)Running Man’s Bible 11) I Should Have Known It 12) Good Enough 13) Learning To Fly (no rhythm section) 14) Don’t Come Around Here No More 15) Refugee Encore 16) You Wreck Me 17) Mystic Eyes 18) Running Down a Dream Last edited by Brock; 06-14-2010 at 11:52 PM.. |

It seems like he is around my area on a semi-regular basis and as recently as a few weeks ago. I need to stop taking it for granted that he will be around again and finally catch one of his shows.
