Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Game
Looks like the best webslinging mechanics ever, even better than the much heralded Spider-Man 2 system on the PS2/XBOX consoles. Using both left and right triggers to fire weblines from their respective hands is much more immersive, and with the return of the speed boost, slingshot, and horizontal wall running, it should be the most fluid iteration of Spidey's unique mode of travel. When you find yourself out of reach of any attachment points (webs stick to buildings again, not just the sky) you still have the web rush mechanic to ensure your safe landing, or get you back into swinging range. Crap-TON of skins. This didn't include the 4 pre-order skins, so the skins here plus pre-order, plus the obligatory Beenox Original suit they are bound to make, that should be 15 skins for Spidey, all of which will change gameplay in some way in the boosting of stats and abilities. For example, if you wear the Spiderman: Noir suit, you will be able to do stealth takedowns from much further away, and be harder to detect by enemies. Pretty cool touch there, as in most games now skins don't change gameplay at all. The more you use a suit, it will "level up" and get better as time goes on. Infinite crimes, so that the game doesn't end when the story does like the first game. Refined combat so there's more emphasis on combos and planned attacks, rather than "Mash X to win". Looks like it builds on the groundwork the first game laid in just about every way. |
